01 Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
It is a method used to evaluate the impact of products, services or systems on the environment throughout their life cycle. It promotes more environmentally friendly and efficient production and consumption patterns by comprehensively evaluating resource use, environmental emissions and ecological effects.
02 What are the differences between Simapro/ecoinvent and eFootprint/CLCD, and how are they related?
1. Simapro and ecoinvent are different things; the database refers to ecoinvent, Simapro is the operating software; ecoinvent footprint database (the latest version is 3.9.1), often used in conjunction with professional software simapro or eFootprint. ecoinvent itself is an ILCD multi-indicator data structure, which includes CO2 greenhouse gas emission impact indicators. It is a commonly used calculation software dedicated database system, but generally there is little data on Asian manufacturing.
2. CLCD contains ELCD EU data and ecoinvent data, and is the database of the eFootprint/WebLCA web platform software. Like ecoinvent, CLCD is a professional database and one of the four major LCA basic databases recommended by the ILCD international organization.
